Hatha Yoga

Some of my yoga teachers that have influenced the way I approach the practice of Yoga.

 

John Claxton from the Iyengar tradition and the importance of a theoretical and practical understanding of Anatomy within the practice.

 

Kofi Busia again from the Iyengar tradition and the importance of clarity and precision in the practice of Asana.

 

Paul Harvey from the Desikachar tradition and the importance of the breath,and Yoga as therapy with modification and variation of traditional asana to suit the individual.

 

Danny Paradise from the Ashtanga tradition and the way to produce the internal heat in the body to encourage flow.

 

Maarten Vermaase and Kum Nye Tibetan Buddhist Yoga and the importance of entering the deeper layers of awareness within the practice and developing the necessary sensitivity to feel the effect of movement in mind,body,breath,and energy.

 

My practice of Yoga has also been influenced by teachers from other Methods to include.

Verni Booth and Sheila McNeill from the Feldenkrais method and the importance of the nervous system and development patterns in determining effortless and efficient movement in space within the context of differentiation and synchronicity of structure.
