I have been practicing the Yang Style Form for over twenty years.

My first introduction was through a Chinese teacher in New Zealand.

I was then introduced through teachers in Oxford to Tew Bunnag a Thai Buddhist who taught Vipassana meditation as well Yang style Tai Chi. Over the years I became more interested in the martial side of Tai Chi and studied the Earle Montague system of Tai Chi (Yang Cheng Fu,and Yang Lu Chan forms). I was also introduced to the art of Baguazhang during this period. After immersing myself  in the martial aspect for some time I then came across the classical Yang Style of Yang Jwing Ming where his art seemed to encapsulate all aspects of Daoist Yoga and Tai Chi, which for me brought things back full circle, although I think a more fully formed circle than before.

I have always admired the Chen style of Tai Chi particularly through Chen Xiaowang and Chen Ziqiang and now practice the 19 form. I have also been introduced to Sam Chin’s method of the Buddhist and Daoist art of I Liq Chuan and have found a profound way of integrating core Zen Buddhist and Daoist principles and practice into the Martial Arts generally and T’ai Chi specifically.

I also now practice I Liq Chuan’s 23 form and Butterfly form.
